Creating positive change.
Creating positive change.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and treatment, we will work together to help recover the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Desensitization is gained through eye movements and simple touch techniques to release and cope with past traumas.
Prenatal and postpartum depression is an all too often taboo subject in today's society. The trouble in transitioning and coping to this dramatic change can bring unwanted difficulty and stressors to the mother, baby, and relationships involved. Through the process of counselling, you can regain a healthy sense of self on the physical, emotional, relational and spiritual levels.
Relationship counselling can be beneficial to those who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held in a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
Loss is a common reason for people to seek therapy. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive place for people to talk about grief, adjustment to physical illness, the end of a relationship or job, abuse issues, or any change in life circumstances that cause distress. I will be here as a tool and support in the exploration on how to cope with these hardships.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post-traumatic events. Together, we can help you overcome these symptoms, and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Individualized psychological care, treating a number of mental health disorders, and providing a neutral ground to individuals. With over 8 years of counselling experience within the school system, university and communities across Alberta.
A client-centered approach, with use of Emotion Focused therapy techniques. My desire is to create a safe, warm, non-judgmental and inviting place to support you through your own process.
A promise to be there for you every step of your journey. The goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
I was born and raised in Alberta. I am a mother, wife and animal lover. I have always had a passion and drive to help others in their lives. Most of my childhood centered around supporting others in creating positive change and to seek the best in themselves. This, in turn, sparked my interest in the therapeutic practice of counselling.
I completed my Bachelor of Social Work in 2011 (University of Calgary) and continued to pursue my passion for counselling by completing my Master of Counselling Psychology (Gonzaga University) in 2014.
As a Registered Social Worker, I acknowledge that working as a counsellor and hearing a client’s story is an honour and a privilege, not a right. I believe everyone is on a journey. By accessing counselling, you are allowing me to be a part of that journey, as well as allowing me to help you navigate through it. I also believe that you are the expert in your own life, and counselling is a vital tool which helps support you in the process of positive change.
